The Facility: Atlantic Aviation, headquartered in Plano, Texas, provides concierge services for general aviation aircraft owners and pilots, as well as a wide range of general aviation services across the United States.
The Challenge: This corporate AV integration project in Plano, Texas, consists of an advanced training room AV system, several executive office AV systems, and 3 executive conference rooms that they offer to their DFW aviation clients. The audio video systems for the various conference room systems needed to be user-friendly, cutting edge, and be able to incorporate several different video input sources such as an in-wall HDMI laptop connection port, a wireless video display, or a dedicated desktop computer.
Our Solution: We began by wiring all of the executive offices, as well as 2 of the conference rooms with short 25ft in-wall HDMI cables to a wall-mounted 55" LCD TV, giving each office the ability to display their desktop PC on the television. We then ran cat5e cables in each of the offices and conference rooms, and we installed HDMI over cat5e video extenders to a wall plate at the conference room table locations. This gives them the ability, in the offices and boardrooms, to plug in a laptop at the table port and display the immages on the TV as well.
For the main executive boardroom near the front lobby, we ran 18/2 speaker cable for the in-ceiling conference room speakers and unshielded cat5e cable to carry the video signal to an Optoma commercial in-ceiling projector.
Having installed many Dallas and Fort Worth conference room systems for companies around DFW, we've found that this Optoma projector provides the perfect combination of lumens (or brightness), resolution, and contrast ratio for its price. The projector offers 4500 lumens and 2500:1 contrast ratio, which allows the display to remain bright and vibrant even with the lights on. The HD native 1920x1080 resolution provides clear, HD images on the screen.
